Individual Accomplishment

Don Phister coached the USNRT Veteran Team (Phister) to fourth place in the NRA Long Range four-man Palma Team event.  Competition included teams from USNRT Palma, the Army Marksmanship Unit and  strong local teams.

2026 CMP Eastern Games

North State Shooting Club fielded two, four-man teams, one Service Rifle and one Match Rifle, at the 2026 CMP Eastern Games Team Match held May 6, 2026 at Camp Butner Training Site. The Service Rifle Team included Joel King, captain, Darrell Bush, John Kurek and Mike Trapani. North State Blue finished 14th out of 18 teams with a score of 1854-40. North State Green was comprised of Jeff Smith, Colby Smith, David McFarling and Tom Green, captain. NS Green finished third of three match rifle teams with a score of 1789-35.

Congrats to Jeff Smith for going Distinguished during the event.

2025 Competition at Camp Perry, Ohio

Tim Moore won the Baesel Memorial Match during the Long Range Competition August 6 at Camp Perry, Ohio, with a score of 200-11 in the Overall Match Rifle with Optics class.

The North State Shooting Club and Junior Marksmanship Support Group six-man team at the National Invitational Team Match held August 1 at Camp Perry, Ohio.

The team placed 22nd of 37 teams shooting in the Out-of-Competition category with a score of 2661-40x.
